...Nick Milone and Alex Milone after their experiences making it to college on scholarship.
Nick, the oldest of three brothers and the only pitcher in the family, had a fastball that sat 90 mph, a change up, and a curveball that just dropped off the table. Despite being ranked at number 8 in all time ERA at a nationally ranked high school, recruiters overlooked his ability on the mound because of his height. Nick only stands at 5’8”...
But after he graduated in 2013, he played in the California Collegiate League where video of him pitching caught the eye of Cal State University Monterey Bay. The coach called Nick, he was invited on an official visit and committed to CSUMB a week later.
From no commitment and looking at junior college, to a scholarship athlete in less than a week because of a video.
Alex was 4 years younger than Nick, but played at a different position. Alex was a catcher and a left handed hitter, which is a very valuable combination. Alex stood out at the plate. His senior year he was MVP of his league, First Team all City, led the league in home runs, hits, extra base hits and RBI’s and has many more accolades beating out multiple players that got drafted later in their career…
But Alex too was undersized or overlooked. Until, he sent 50 emails to 50 different colleges with video! The next day some of the big Division 1 Schools were reaching out when finally he got what he wanted. An opportunity to start at a Division 1 School on scholarship (Siena College, NY).
In just ONE day he went from no commitment to a college scholarship.
With our history of being overlooked, our videos and player profiles hold a strong place in our heart. We want to give every athlete the opportunity to have quality video that brings light to their ability on the field.
